Year of Projects 15 – Week 3

Progress has been steady on the Franklin Park Tank this week. I’ve had a little more time to work away steadily on it and it is an enjoyable project. I would say the pattern is not necessarily the most intuititive to read and my experience of knitting is coming to play, but it’s not impossible either. It accompanies me daily on my commute to and from work so most of the progress you will see is from then.

Last week I had been at the point of deciding if I should add some extra length overall to the body of the Franklin and did in fact end up adding in an extra 1.25″ to the length. If you want additional legnth this is the spot to add it as there is no figuing out chart patterns or shapings. With this added I did then move on to the chart patterning and made the relevant adjustments to the points where I will need to begin shaping decreases due to the additional legnth, but for now I can carry on just following the chart patterns.

This brings me to the end of actual progress on projects. I have been adjusting things in the background of the blog, aiming to get the blog to how I want it to be. So you may see adjustments here and there but I am hoping to press on with getting the additional posts and pieces I want to write for various pages and categories started this week. Other than this I will be continuing to work away on the Franklin and check in with all the fellow YOPers over the coming week and I’m looking forward to seeing their progress on their projects. If this is something you too would like to do, then consider chcecking out all of the participants blogs in the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry

It is coming along, being able to knit during your commute is ideal for getting more stitching done. I couldn’t seem to find you on WordPress reader or a button to subscribe so I’ve put my email address in instead to make sure I don’t miss any posts.

What a pretty tank. Congrats on your modifications. I’m not sure I’ve ever knit a garment that didn’t require some modification from the pattern.

I think that’s half the enjoyment of knitting really isn’t it Maureen, being able to make those modifications to make garments fit you just right!

I like the contrasting color you have chosen for the Franklin. How nice to have something to do during your commute.

Thanks Marsha, I wish it woulf photograph a bit better, it is coming up very pinky but is in fact a lot more of a royal deep purple, either way I agree I like it too!

Pretty tank! I don’t miss commuting, but I do miss that knitting time! It’s great that you can work on your project while you commute. I look forward to seeing the finished tank.
